Programmes Sailing Day
Sailing Day
Streetworx partnered with ING and Flying Fish to take 20 youth on a sailing day. The youth were picked up from school and driven to Sydney CBD. ING had very generously donated their time to show the youth around the office and talk to the youth about what they do and how they could be involved.

Youth were fascinated by what takes place at ING, the view from the office, the classy boardroom but also the food that was provided. Once the tour of the office was finished the youth were taken to the spit where they had lunch with ING staff and flying fish crew members. Then they were split up into 3 boats where they would learn the different aspects of sailing and also various skills that they could use in life such as:

  • Communication
  • Team Work
  • Self Belief
  • Trust
  • Determination


After practicing together and bonding the three boats had their own regatta, sailing from The Spit to Manly and back, with the first boat receiving a prize. At the end of the day youth were given Flying Fish merchandise and learnt many skills that they can use in life.
